30 Apr IN THE DARK
IN THE DARK
I would like to step out of character for a moment and proclaim my extreme putting abilities and all-round golfing prowess. Most of you know my shyness for acknowledging a win…but I must say that I am a member of the current ‘Glow-in-the-Dark’ championship team at Western Trent.
Last summer, in the dark, after a few cocktails, with guidance like “I think the hole is over here and breaks a little right or left” I some how managed to drain 3 putts that were about 30-40 feet in length. Our team found balls that lost their glow sticks. We skipped a pond. Chipped in one handed so a drink didn’t get left behind in the dark…all skillful stuff!
Why is it possible that we can play better in the dark? Recently, I played a round of ‘Monkey golf’, using only a 3 iron, a 7 iron and a putter and was only one stroke below my average. What?
All I know is I’ll be there to defend my Glow-in-the-Dark trophy in August…I may wear ‘sunglasses at night’. 😎
